Applications
Highly reliable
docking is critical for many field computing
systems to function properly. Xplore's integrated
docking systems have been designed as a key
component of the entire GeneSys II System. The
patented docking mechanism is the foundation
for Xplore's innovative mobile docking systems.
Xplore's QR Mobile
Docking Systems have been designed for applications
where the GeneSys II will be docked and undocked
on a daily basis, for instance in a vehicle,
cart or forklift.
The "QR Dock
" utilizes a unique levered docking mechanism
that makes a smooth, highly reliable docking
action while maintaining a solid connection.
A single connection at the back of the rugged
GeneSys II Computer connects to the Dock Head,
providing a seamless system connection.
The inherent
strength of the GeneSys II product family is
that the computer and docking stations each
have elements of the other designed right into
their electrical and mechanical structures.
This configuration allows the GeneSys II computer
to be "docked" and "undocked" on demand.
The QR Docks
provide instant access to a variety of I/O ports,
as well as wireless radios and GPS systems.
Customers have cited Xplore's Docking as the
most integrated, functional and reliable docking
system available."
Xplore's QR Dock
can be mounted to a variety of third-party pedestals
in vehicle-mounting hardware. Xplore has created
vehicle mounting systems for law enforcement,
utility, and other primary customer applications.

Additional
Mounting Hardware
It is important
to note that Xplore supports complete vehicle,
cart or forklift docking systems. This includes
Xplore's proprietary hardware (QR Dock), third-party
mounting hardware, surge protectors and other
in-vehicle requirements. Xplore has designed
complete in-vehicle systems for law enforcement,
EMS, utility and field service applications.
The key to its superb functionality is that
Xplore hardware is flexible, and we often work
in conjunction with one of our docking partners
to custom-design in-vehicle configurations.
- Mounting
hardware: pedestal
mounts, quick release mechanisms, tilt/swivel
functions for LCD, keyboard trays that tilt
and swivel, etc.
- Surge Protectors:
third party surge protectors that "clean the
power source from the battery" and protect
both the battery and mobile computing equipment
from surges and power spikes
- Vehicle
Audits: work
with customer to complete a vehicle audit,
which ensures that the optimal in-vehicle
hardware and electronic configuration is completed
for the project
- Installation:
in conjunction with a contracted Xplore partner,
installation is part of a comprehensive deployment
project
- Custom:
Xplore often works with its installation,
hardware docking, and wireless partners in
order to customize many in-vehicle solutions
