Rugged & Reliable...
Reliability in the field is essential. Based upon a comprehensive, patented ruggedization scheme, the GeneSys II mobile computer is designed for absolute reliability. The computer's housing is constructed from a magnesium alloy. The housing, industrial rubber bumpers and an internal shock mounting mechanism work together to protect the computer. The GeneSys II is fully resistant to shocks and vibration, as well as dust, dirt, humidity, moisture and blowing rain likely to be found in the harshest field environments.

System Features/Benefits

  • Magnesium housings are extremely durable, rigid, and non-corrosive-20 times stronger than plastic
  • Patented dense industrial rubber bumpers provide enhanced energy absorption and sealing protection, and also act as convenient, functional handgrips
  • Combination of metal housings, industrial rubber bumpers and internal mounting provides unparalleled low-frequency shock protection
  • Gasketed against moisture and dirt
  • Internal shock mounting mechanism including shock tolerant hard drives
  • Effective heat sinking for advanced processors

Large, Bright Color Screens... Unique GeneSys II video distribution system and optics technology, combined with a large 10.4" TFT Ultra Hi-Brite LCD panel, provides screens that are clearly readable under the most challenging lighting conditions (i.e., sunlight). Customer, reseller and industry feedback has consistently identified the GeneSys II screen as the most vibrant and readable screen, in ALL lighting conditions. The bottom line for mobile computers is that the screen must be visible in the field to be considered useful. Don't be fooled by misleading NIT counts, or screens that require exact lighting conditions to perform. Ask to see the screen operating in your specific application situations.

System Features/Benefits

  • 10.4" screen - SVGA (800x600) TFT Ultra Hi-Brite Color
  • Displays are 4-5 times brighter than average notebook screens
  • Larger viewable display for improved data entry and image viewing
  • Readable in sunlight, dimmed light and intense fluorescent lighting
  • 8 MB of on-board video RAM results in vibrant, true colors

Accurate, Reliable and User-Friendly Input...
The GeneSys II Pen/Touch resistive digitizer is extremely accurate and easy to use. Even an inexperienced user can intuitively navigate an application with true point-and-tap input. The pen interface also allows for signature capture, handwriting recognition, and drawing or sketching directly onto the display. An increasing number of mobile applications are migrating to pen/touch input because it is easy to implement and train, and has greater user acceptance.

System Features/Benefits

  • Resistive digitizer accepts input from a passive stylus or finger touch, both of which are automatically sensed
  • Touch input is more accurate, due to the greater number of sensor/contact points on the digitizer
  • User-trainable input so that individual writing styles are taken into consideration
